Professor Andy Pardoe Launches Advanced Agentic AI Business: KARRIK Technologies Ltd

AI Professor Andy Pardoe, Chair of the Deep Tech Innovation Centre at Warwick University, named as one of the top 30 AI influencers by IBM, supported by two other Professors in computer science and financial computing, top PhD/MSc talent and world-class multi-agent research, backed by a strong commercial team, is launching a full stack, AI-native agentic platform with six architectural layers — KARRIK.

6 Layers of architecture

The six layers of architecture represent an advanced application of AI, making the platform's technology superior to the current generation of agentic platforms. KARRIK is specifically built for medium-sized businesses, ambitious entrepreneurial businesses and those looking to be better, more efficient, competitive and profitable.

Out of the box — Athena

There is an 'out of the box' version, Athena, which is a pre-configured SaaS based system. Agentic capability is built in to manage business applications and intelligently automate daily operations (workflows/'recipes'). It is designed for ease of use by non-technical users and is highly configurable. Athena integrates with existing back-office technologies and AI applications, joining them up to work better and more effectively together. The advanced software enables AI agents to get better qualified, more practical, useable outputs to real-world business use cases from LLMs. The functionality of Athena grows with a business as it grows.

KARRIK — Advanced agentic tech with governance, cost control and integration built in

KARRIK has an extensive list of optional extras and advanced functionality which will integrate with an existing technology infrastructure. More suited for businesses with IT expertise, it will add to current operational models, not destabilise them. KARRIK can be configured to create bespoke front-end applications tailored to a business, the unique way it works with customers, which they see and value as a positive differentiator — 'why they choose to do business with you'.

Governance, cost control, policy, auditability, automation, extendable oversight, permissions and control of data are all built in. Continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) and human oversight are woven in throughout the platform, rather than added at the edge.

AI-native tech stack, designed as one for the machine economy

Built as a 'native' agentic platform, each layer is uniquely designed for the layer above it. KARRIK heralds the dawn of the machine economy, where AI agents interact and deal with other AI agents. Autonomous intent will move past passive prompt loops. Agents will increasingly act on their own and dynamic malleability will see traditional rigid APIs replaced with malleable agent-to-agent communications and negotiations.

Humans will then move from direct operators to orchestrators, strategic overseers, validators and boundary setters — 'above the loop'. The runtime coordinates the AI's work; the planning layer knows what the execution can do rather than guessing through an API boundary; the beliefs store keeps it grounded in accurate information; the model layer supplies the intelligence; shared memory keeps everything connected. Failure handling and observability are native to every layer, and the execution substrate underpins it all with security and control.

People and teams will now be able to interact better when using AI applications. AI applications, which are currently built to be optimal in isolation, where data doesn't always sync between models and integration is an afterthought, will also be able to work more effectively together.

With integration at the core both Athena and KARRIK deliver the measurable commercial value, operational efficiencies and performance improvements which businesses, who have been looking to unlock the strategic transformation of AI at scale, have been looking for. It is an agentic foundation a business can scale with confidence.

Managing AI, governance, transparency and accountability are key

In an increasingly regulated world, governance, transparency and accountability to employees, shareholders, customers and society at large are key issues for business leaders. Customers are setting the bar higher on being treated fairly and society increasingly expects business to deal with burgeoning societal issues. As AI starts to run more day-to-day, operational, repeatable tasks — confidence that 'you are doing the right thing, especially when nobody is looking' is going to be a key trust factor in customers' buying decisions.

Professor Andy comments:

This agentic architecture is a harder and rarer path to follow. It is technically difficult. We have over 350+ design documents and close to a million lines of code. Current agentic platforms bolt and hack tools together — that is not enterprise software. Bolt-togethers create technical debt, are fragile, prone to breaking and, as they are not trained on the latest information to be useful, require constant updates and IT support.
Applications are morphed together with glue code, as an afterthought. KARRIK has used a clean sheet design approach, versus Frankenstein's monster. Think Michelangelo's David, crafted out of a single piece of marble or building with Lego bricks. It's the same approach that has advanced the technologies of Tesla and SpaceX.

Giving a practical example, Professor Andy explains:

Every business will have AI built into every app and agents it uses. But none of that AI is designed to talk to each other, help or learn from each other. Business leaders comment that they have yet to see the transformational promise of AI. Thus far the benefits have been at an operational use case level, treating AI as an upgrade, streamlining, manageable, repeatable administrative tasks. Marginal gains.
The strategic, disruptive and transformational vision of AI at scale has not yet been realised — the whole is less than the sum of the AI parts. The KARRIK agentic platform will harness the power of all the AI in a business and the vision — a better run, more efficient, profitable business, with better products and services, unlocking the potential of your people, your business, competing anywhere against anyone, winning and keeping more customers — becomes a reality.

KARRIK Technologies Ltd is currently on-boarding an internationally recognised Board of Advisors. KARRIK is in pre-release with four active pilots. The next on-boarding of pilot partners will start in Q4 2026. Professor Andy is inviting interested businesses to connect, join and help fashion and design the KARRIK platform with real-world use cases.

Technical notes — the advanced 6 layers of architecture

The six architectural layers are:

  • Business applications
  • Agentic and symbiotic AI fabric for scaled runtime
  • Agentic beliefs store
  • Language model execution and hosting
  • Unified memory layer
  • The execution substrate

Business applications

The payoff in business applications is improved efficiency and effectiveness from the use of tools people use day to day. Faster customer responses, quicker approvals, reduced manual grunt work is delivered from tools people already know, with no new systems to learn. All customers see their challenges as unique, so managing, co-ordinating and delivering better tailored products and personalised services — which differentiates a business, 'why customers buy you' — is now achievable at scale.

The Agentic and Symbiotic AI Runtime

The runtime coordinates and decides what an AI agent should do next, bringing multiple agents together on bigger tasks. Agents know when to act on their own, when to check in, and when to pass work to another agent — nothing gets dropped. It also knows when to hand work back to a person, so AI and employees work as one team.

Agentic Beliefs Store

The beliefs store is a key factor and a differentiator for KARRIK. It defines what an agent believes it is permitted to do, and capable of doing, so it does not overreach. It sets what an agent believes is true, 'the state of the world'. It calibrates uncertainty about facts, based on current information instead of guesswork, so it more accurately defines the context and the conclusions an agent is working on, and not acting on false premises.

There is therefore a running record of what each agent understood to be true at any moment, so should a decision ever need to be reviewed or reversed, troubleshooting is easier. This builds the trust which many feel is a missing link in AI applications. Beliefs also allow a business to stamp its own DNA. Aligning AI agents to a culture and what employees and customers think is what makes a business unique. In a world where AI increasingly influences day-to-day decisions and tasks, the risk is that all businesses will start to look the same. Beliefs and 'how things get done around here' are competitive differentiators.

Language Model Execution and Hosting

This is where the AI models themselves actually run — securely hosted and scaled up or down depending on how much the business needs at any moment. The AI stays fast and available, even as usage grows. Businesses no longer have to manage that complexity or overpay for capacity they aren't using. Employees don't care which LLM they use or the cost of it. Increasingly using AI has become an easy default for even the simplest, most inappropriate of tasks, which is spiralling costs out of control. Managing those costs, and routing simple questions to cheaper models and more complex work to more appropriate, and if necessary, more expensive models is built in.

Unified Memory Layer

A shared memory lets agents and applications remember past interactions, decisions, and context across the whole business — not just within one conversation. Current AI models will, depending on how and who they have interacted with, have different personas for each 'user'. This can lead to inconsistent answers and advice. The unified memory lets agents build up a better, unified picture, at an individual, team, operational project and organisational level. Customers and employees stop having to repeat themselves, and different tools and agents stay on the same page — instead of each one starting from scratch.

Execution Substrate

This is the underlying infrastructure and guardrails everything else runs on — computing power, storage, security, and firm limits on what actions are technically possible. It is the foundation that keeps everything secure, compliant, and cost-controlled, and limits how much damage any single mistake could ever cause — the safety net underneath the entire platform.
